After running for governor with the Peace & Freedom Party in California this year and having experienced how the open primary / top 2 voting scheme hurts alternative political party options firsthand, Cindy Sheehan comes out against it by opposing the latest effort to pass it at the ballot with Oregon's Measure 90 to be voted on come November 4th.
As guest Jeff 4 Justice points out, although the open primary / top 2 voting scheme more or less kill off alternative political party options and independents, it also disenfranchises partisan Democrats or partisan Republicans when the Top 2 winds up being two candidates of the same party as happens in California and Washington state where this election system is already in place.

Note, this website supports Top 2 with unproven claims that single party general election races will "have to appeal to voters outside their own party" when in reality it means partisan supporters of the opposite party or supporters of alternative party options will simply not vote for either candidate. This website is only being cited because it proves how the open primary / top 2 scheme creates voter disenfranchisement by creating major party - single party general election races.
