The following was an electronic mail that I sent to a Silicone Valley company, Electronics for Imaging (EFI), that was in the news lately for bringing over some employees from India and thinking they could get away with paying them in Rupees instead of Dollars. Evidently this little clerical SNAFU also extended into their overtime pay as well. There were several bay area papers that glommed onto the story but I read about it here on the good 'ol Daily Kos.
The original story can be found under the title Silicon Valley company busted for paying Indian workers $1.21 an hour in America, by Eric Hopp. Since I can't figure out how to imbed a link here to save my life you'll have to look on the Diaries list to find it. I was writing this little tome because I had too much nervous energy from the World's Series. I put so much effort into it so I thought I'd share it with you, my public. Well, not my public per se, but you know what I mean.
I was just perusing your web site tonight and when I got to your section labeled "EFI In The News", you don't seem to have anything after February 2014. Now can you guys think of anything that your International Cooperation did or experienced since Februrary of this year that could be considered news worthy. Anything at all? Nothing?
I could be wrong. It's just that I heard of this real sleazy, scumbag company who shipped a bunch of Indian workers over to the Good 'Ol U.S. of A., worked their asses to the bone, and the, now this is the part that'll really crack you up, this douche bag of a cooperate citizen tried to pay these poor saps in Indian Rupees. Can you imagine that? Indian fucking Rupees. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, this collection of rectal warts tried to claim that they didn't realize that they had to pay these poor saps in American Dollars. Or that they had to observe American labor laws. Hand to God here! If that was what they really thought, they could go to the deepest, darkest shit hole underage whorehouse in all of southeast Asia, teach 'em some quick COBAL and pay 'em $1.00 a trick, er, I mean, instillation. I think that's what they were doing wasn't it? I mean, if it were programming you could just abuse them in India where you could get away with paying them shit wages.
Can you imagine what slimy pieces of human excrement the management of a company like this would have to be to have the gall to try and peddle that load of bullshit to the public? That this was all just a "clerical error?" Funny about that, I may only possess a B.S. degree in Mathematics but, it seems funny, down right hilarious actually, that these sorts of errors seem to always benefit the company and not the employees. I believe in the wide world of statistics, this would be an indication of bias in the data. My Bachelor's degree may have been in math, but my doctorate was in medicine and I know a pilonidal cyst when I see it and this company is being lead by those whose brains I could only liken to pilonidal cysts. I mean, the lowest of the low! Real whale turds. Bottom dwelling shit heals. Scumbags of the highest magnitude. I guess pederasts might be lower but these guys are close enough that pederasts could hold on to their belts to keep from standing on the bottom rung of the ladder.
Things sure are fucked up in this country when a company can get caught doing all this and only be fined the back pay and $3500. Shit, DUI's cost people more than that. Thank goodness this wasn't your company. Why I'm surprised that these people, with all the ethics of a back alley used condom, didn't try and pay these poor saps in wampum, shiny hand mirrors and small pox infected blankets. I mean, brown is brown, am I right? Am I right?
I'm right aren't I. Go on. You can admit it. After all, it wasn't you guys was it? 'Course not, because that would mean that you work for a bunch of amoral, gangrenous, scrotal pearls. You guys are located in Silicon Valley, Google it.
