In my area in New York, we are about to lose a seat to a 30 year old Tea Party carpetbagger and my state assembly seat, held by a Republican, went unopposed. I had thought about running for the Congressional seat myself, but the timing wasn't right, and I didn't have the, cough, cough, $200,000 seed money to get started. I am a teacher, not a millionaire.
I have pretty much decided I am going to run for one of the two offices in two years. I will be retiring from teaching then, and also be ready for a change. I love politics, have a good backstory (husband a surviving firefighter from 9/11, ran a dog rescue in addition to teaching,) but I need money. One of the Dem party chairmen told me I should start a PAC, but after looking at the information, I am a bit overwhelmed. I could really use some help.

I consider myself a Democrat in the Elizabeth Warren style. I am a populist, and am very worried about our kids, their jobs, their student loans and what the future holds for them. Although in a conservative district, as a teacher I can speak to the fears all of the parents in my area have. I also am concerned about the environment, as I am a big outdoors person. What I am not is a natural politician. I have trouble hiding my emotions, and am sensitive and not thick-skinned, but I feel I have two years to work on thickening my hide.
I would be very appreciative of any help. Thank you in advance.
