It doesn't take a whole lot of coherent, logical thought to understand, in practical terms, why the entire Ebola quarantine scenario is a totally absurd idea.
Just suppose, heaven forbid, that we have an outbreak of Ebola in the US. If this happens we will need doctors and nurses to treat the sick people. According to the RWNJ protocol for dealing with everyone who comes in contact with anyone who has Ebola, these doctors and nurses would be allowed to work one shift and then they would be transported off to the appropriate detention center to serve a 21 day quarantine. They would not be allowed to go home, travel on public transportation, eat in a restaurant, shop in a supermarket - nada!
Doctors, nurses, lab personnel, orderlies and custodial staff would only be allowed to work in the Ebola ward, and only for one shift. After each Ebola patient presented to the emergency room, the entire emergency room staff would have to report for quarantine. In the event of an Ebola epidemic, we would run out of trained medical practitioners within a week or two. They would all be in quarantine.
I can think of only one way to get the RWNJ establishment to change their absurd thinking on this subject, and that is to declare that all medical personnel would be eligible for unemployment insurance while they are quarantined. Those RWMJs whose heads didn't pop just from contemplating the conflicting ideologies would soon be screaming for the deadbeat medics to get back to work and quit freeloading on the taxpayer.
