Ft. Lauderdale, Florida -- Democratic gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist filed an emergency motion with the Circuit Court for the 17th Judicial Circuit to extend voting hours in Broward County from 7 pm to 9 pm.
The filing came less than an hour before the polls were supposed to close at 7. The campaign says it filed the motion due to "several individual and systemic breakdowns" that made it difficult for voters to cast regular ballots:
A request was made first to the Broward County Supervisor of Elections, who denied it.
