The right wing pundits, theocrats, politicians, and others are doing their happy dances and making plans for governing by reducing and privatizing government. Let’s pause for a moment and look at what some of them have said in the past couple of days.
Impeach!
The calls for impeaching the President have been around since before he was sworn in. After all, it should be unconstitutional to be President while Black or using real data for decision-making. The calls for impeachment have grown louder in the past couple of days. Here is what some are saying.
Rev. Austin Miles:
Now in power, the Republicans must act swiftly. The first act is to get Obama out of office immediately. His entire "election" was fraudulent with 38,000 unqualified voters confirmed with as many as 2.5 million yet to be classified.
Obama’s crimes according to Miles:
His main goal is to promote sexual immorality by ordering the Rainbow Flag to fly over U.S. Embassies around the world, and had the Fire Department in a major city march in a Gay Pride Day parade, in uniform.
He has declared the name of Jesus Christ illegal and has forbidden military chaplains to say His name in prayers. He even prohibited them from saying, "God bless you" to grieving families at military funerals.
Michael Savage:
He needs to be impeached. If he keeps this up, if he grants executive amnesty to the illegals, if he goes ahead with all of his crazy garbage on global warming nonsense, he’s got to be impeached. It’s that simple. The time to stop the impeachment movement against Barack Obama will be the day he signs the executive action on amnesty. It’s that simple.
And finally, we have
Glen Beck who claims that Obama would have already been impeached if the media hadn’t been lying about him:
“He wouldn’t be president, he would have been impeached years ago…if they would have been telling the truth the whole time, he would’ve been impeached.”
Civil War!
There are some on the right who envision a coming civil war. According to Richard Viguerie:
“If President Obama, by executive order, extends amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, as he’s promised to do shortly, this could ignite, quite frankly, a civil war across America against the Democratic Party”
Block Nominees!
While we already know that the Republicans will block all of the President’s nominees, there are at least some who are talking openly about it.
Phyllis Schlafly:
“I think the most important job of the Republican Senate is to defeat or reject, or not even take up, any of Obama’s court nominees.”
Echoing Phyllis Schlafly,
Richard Land has called upon the Senate to refuse to confirm even one judge for the next two years. He said that the Republicans should tell the President:
"The American people have lost confidence in your leadership as president and we're going to not confirm any judicial nominations in the Senate until after the American people have had an opportunity to elect a new president."
Justice delayed is, of course, justice denied. This approach will deny justice to many Americans, including some corporations. One cannot help but wonder if these people are thinking clearly about the impact of this on the American people.
