Susan G. Komen for the Cure recently partnered with gas drillers Baker Hughes to paint 1,000 drill bits pink in order to pinkwash Hughes’ dirty fracking business.
Hughes allegedly donated $100,000 to the controversial Komen organization to pull off the pinkwashing stunt.
In Philly, we recently raised awareness about this atrocious pinkwashing campaign. Our Toxic for Tatas event was a huge success!
We handed out 150 flyers to a very receptive crowd (and a crowd who is more likely to take action than many others). We built a mock fracking rig. Kids of all ages had tons of fun shooting the water guns at the rig to un-pinkwash it!
We’re demanding a statewide moratorium on fracking in Pennsylvania. We won’t stop until we get!
