O.K.
So the midterms didn't turn out too well for Democrats. There have been all kinds of post-mortems, but there is one that is unquestionable. We don't need a lot of people who are currently in the Democratic Party.
It's only after we get rid of all the extra baggage that the Democratic Party can carry a message that is uniform and compelling. A truly progressive message that will draw people by the millions. So who are some of the people that we really don't need?
First, we don't need conservative Democrats. I'm glad Mark Pryor got defeated. And I will have a little party when Mary Landrieu is gone, too. Good riddance! That goes for Jon Tester and Heidi Heitkamp, too. They are all tools of Big Energy. Claire McCaskill and Joe Donnelly are not far down the list, either. Have you seen their voting records? And they call themselves Democrats?
Next, we don't need planet killers. Joe Manchin is the worst of them - completely beholden to dirty, filthy coal. Who cares if every county in West Virginia votes Republican? There's no room in the Democratic Party for climate deniers. And that goes for ordinary people who want to destroy the planet, too. Loggers, miners, oilfield workers - I don't care if they used to vote Democratic a generation ago - we don't need their votes.
Then, we don't need any Christian hypocrites. The Catholic Church is a bastion of pederasts and misogynists. You want to go to mass every week and say a few Hail Marys? Then we don't need you. Right behind them are the Evangelicals who are adrift in creationism and anti-abortionism. You believe in Genesis? You oppose abortion? We don't need you in the Democratic Party.
And screw flyover America, too. Have you ever seen a bigger group of inbred idiots as a bunch of Hoosiers or Cornhuskers. I say "Hoosiers or Cornhuskers" because all they seem to care about are their college sports teams. They don't care about progressive values. A quick look at the past few presidential election maps by county shows a sea of red in middle America. Fine. Let 'em keep it.
It's only when the Democratic Party has people who are sufficiently progressive that we have a chance of winning elections. As for everyone else - - who needs them?
