Cruz Adds to Speculation of Presidential Ambitions With Iowa Speech

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) added to speculation about his presidential ambitions by addressing an influential, grass-roots conservative group in Iowa and exhorting them to remain active in defense of religious and educational freedom.
Offering the keynote address at a meeting of the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators, Mr. Cruz said, "School choice is the civil rights issue of the 21st century." Home-schoolers are a powerful political force in Iowa, the state that hosts the first presidential caucuses.
Mr. Cruz, a hero to many tea party activists, didn't answer directly when reporters asked whether his Iowa trip signaled an intent to run for president in 2016.
"There's no doubt that Iowa is the center of the national debate of where the country should go,'' he said, "and I'm happy to be part of that debate to change the path we're on. I'm traveling through the country to mobilize and energize the grass roots."

Cruz on God’s role in the shutdown: ‘His will be done as it will be’ (with Video)
by David Edwards, rawstory.com -- Oct 14, 2013
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said over the weekend that he had prayed to God to guide him in the shutdown fight and was sure that “his will be done as I know it will be.”
Televangelist Pat Robertson opened Monday’s edition of The 700 Club by describing the Oct. 17 debt ceiling deadline as a “countdown to Armageddon.”
“The Democrats, instead of holding spending down, now say, ‘We want freedom to spend more, we’ve got to spend more,’” Robertson explained. “They need a fix. It’s like a heroin addict, you’ve got to have your fix. And they need a fix. So, they want the sequester taken away as a price for re-opening the government. It is shocking!”

At the Values Voter Summit over the weekend, CBN’s David Brody spoke with Cruz about his role in instigating the government shutdown, which has been seen as complicating debt limit negotiations.
“Where do you see God in all of this fight that’s going on in your life right now?” Brody asked the Texas senator.
“Well, David, you know at every stage, my prayer to God is that His will be done,” Cruz insisted. “As it will be.”

I don't know which is more frightening:
-- That the Architect of the Government Shutdown blames his own reckless actions on "God's Will."
-- Or that, he is 'just pretending' to have the "ear of God" -- in order to gather up all those God-fearing Votes across the heartland.
Neither scenario bodes well for a Government, of, by, and for the People -- ALL the People. Even those people, that God doesn't talk to, on a daily basis.
Like the chosen Cruz.
