Race is in play with Ferguson and there are many racists people in the country, but to view Ferguson just from the point of view of race is missing the real problem.
The oppression of blacks and others is frequently done because of economic inequality. I don't see rich minorities being pushed around and killed by the police. Yet I am sure the racists hate the economically successful as much as the poor. Kobe and Denzel do not risk being shot.
If you have somebody that cannot defend themselves because of their poverty and lack of means to the system, some people will always take advantage of them. The only way to correct that is to give everybody access to economic health.
In this country we worship economic success -- whether it is in business, sports, or celebrity. Collectively, we act like we believe these people are better than the rest. This is a very fundamental mistake that leaves to the oppression of people with little means.
A police with a job considers themselves better than a person without one -- regardless of race.
We need to stop letting a small minority of people have all the money in this country, while the rest of the people struggle to support themselves.
The easy way to solve this is to redistribute wealth until everybody has enough to sustain themselves. We pay for this by taking it from the wealthy who have way too much, tax 90% of everything above $1 million.
Until you redistribute the wealth, people will keep talking about a race problem and miss the real reason behind Ferguson.
p.s. same for immigration.
