Hi Beer Lovers! It's Friday again, hope you've had a good week. Stop in and share a cold one with FNBB!
Even in California winter has definitely arrived, and all the usual winter special beers are here to entertain us.
Last weekend I found a pub that had a couple of old favorites on tap.
Deschutes Jubelale is a strong-ish (6.7%) rather sweet brown ale without spices. Despite 60IBUs for balance it was all about the malt. I can't remember having a Deschutes beer I didn't like.
Anchor Christmas Ale is spiced, I won't even guess with what, and drier and lighter bodied than I'd expected. Spices are restrained enough that you could probably have more than one.
I'm late and need to post this. I'm currently sipping my favorite winter seasonal, Sierra Nevada Celebration ale. They're now calling it "Fresh Hop IPA" but I'd say the label has changed more than the flavor.
What are you drinking? Any other good winter beers I should know about? Is anyone brewing?
