Many of you have read my diaries about about Baby and Sue.
Many of you have asked to be updated and what an update there is!
Pointsettias were delivered from their FaceBook group as I previously mentioned. All of the patients received one as well as one for the staff. They were extremely happy as not a one of these folks has a visitor, nothing. In fact, they now await at the door for the volunteers who are helping Sue and Baby to arrive. Usher them in, chat with them. All are involved.
So, Sue's room is now wall-papered with cards. A fundraiser has raised right at one thousand dollars to provide for her needs, like personal grooming items, treats, books, so forth.
The angel who started this has managed to get her lease on her apartment broken with no penalty. Her things have been moved and cared for.
The decision has been made by this angel, Sue, the foster and adopter to leave Baby with the foster until Sue leaves this world, which will be sooner rather than later. She is in pain. But about every three days Sue gets a visit from Baby and they snuggle up so close. It's good for them both. God bless the foster and adopter for being so willing to give joy in the short amount of time Sue has left. And for Baby too.
Oh, and that's not enough. A band is coming into the facility to play Jimmy Buffet type music, for free, for the residents. A hair stylist is coming to cut Sue's hair for the first time in two years. Free. Treats are being provided for all of the residents.
And a foundation is being born. One to help people and pets with no relatives who are in this situation. It will be named after Sue and Baby. So when Sue is gone, her legacy will be this most wonderful gift to those who struggle as she has, to need end of life care while still worrying about your beloved pet.
When she is gone I will share the amazing FaceBook page with you. I'll share real names. I cannot right now. But I can and will then because I want you to see the pictures, I want you to know these wonderful people, and I want you to see that Baby is prospering. And I want you to know Sue. Even after she is gone. No one will forget her.
