Now that the Christmas carol ear worms have been banished for another year, lets get back to some real music!
Ambled into the Boxing Day celebration at my local pub last night (an annual event) just as my friend Peter Yeates was playing "Streets of London". He played this at the wake for my good friend and mentor Sean Slattery. Being a sentimental sap, a tear slipped out and down my cheek.
Being Irish, Peter has the best fooking accent and is just a good guy. Had a couple Tullamore Dew's and reveled in the music; fiddle, bodhrán, guitar and pipes.
Doesn't get much better.
It does get weirder. House mates went down early to get a table. When I got there they were sharing it with three other people, the sister of the bodhrán player, her partner (a FBI agent) and an ex member of the Flying Karamazov Brother!
Here's different version of Streets of London.
