Good morning! Welcome to the DKos Sangha weekly open thread.
This is an open thread for members of the DKos Sangha and others who are interested in discussions concerning how we integrate our progressive political activism into our spiritual practice. If you have observations about the political discourse of the week, or about practice, or about anything else related to walking a spiritual path through the political world, if you wish to share, or if you seek support, or if you simply want to say hello, please do; this space is for you.
If you would like to write a diary for the DKos Sangha, please let me know.
If you care nothing for spiritual practice and only wish to denigrate and disparage, please do so elsewhere, and respect that this is a community diary for the DKos Sangha.

Honesty. Being honest with oneself.
In being fully open and honest with oneself, there is a willingness to see, to be with, everything that arises, every internal conflict, every perceived shortcoming, every thing that causes a contraction or a dark negative feeling within.
Being with what arises requires compassion, tenderness. The willingness to see and be with the conflict is joined by the opening of the heart; an allowing, an acceptance, a warm and loving, gentle, patient, kind embrace of simply what is in this moment.
And there is the allowing of not knowing the answer, of not needing to know the answer; that in the open-hearted embrace of what is, the causes of the conflict are being released, as water evaporates in the heat of the full sun.
This being honest with ourselves, this willingness to be with, to meet, everything that arises, seems a natural movement of our true nature, moving up from the core of our being. It seems to be both cause and result of traveling upon the path. It is an invitation to awaken more fully, to open the heart more fully, to be more fully human.
Wherever we are in this moment is where we need to be to move forward along the path. Whatever is arising in this moment is what we need to open to, to meet, to allow, to be with, to be tender with.
The more we are able to be compassionate with ourselves, the more our suffering is alleviated, and the more we are able to be compassionate with others, helping to alleviate their suffering as well.

Breathe
Rest in this space for a moment
Rest in the richness, the lightness, of this space, for a moment
Whatever the eyes see, whatever the ears hear,
Notice that these too are part of this space, in this moment
There is a wholeness here,
All perceptions are of this space,
This space within which we are resting,
This space within which we are just simply breathing,
Lightly, easily, gently, effortlessly
Just breathing
Just resting here in this space
Just being here in this space
Just being

You are welcome to join us each week in our Monday night group meditation here at DKos Sangha. This online group meditation is hosted by Ooooh, and the diary is posted at 7:00 Eastern. So that we are able to be together for as many here at Daily Kos as wish to participate, the meditation period runs from 7:30 to 10:00 Eastern. This group sitting is open to beginners and advanced, and is not restricted to any particular traditions or practices. It is not expected that you sit for the entire period; sit for as long as you like, when you like. The idea is that we are here together; supporting each other, holding space for each other.

Enjoy your day!
