I thought this should be noted.
Today, January 8th, 2015, in the Capitol Rotunda in Madison, Wisconsin, the Solidarity Sing-Along met. The Sing-Along has been held on 1000 consecutive working days, to protest the mendacity and corruption of the Walker administration.
Virtually all the people you see in this video have jobs or are retired from a lifetime of productive work. There are no "professional activists" here. When Walker and his minions blew up the State, most of these people had never met. Some of them are card-carrying members of the Democratic Party. Others are socialists, anarchists, libertarians, or simply unaffiliated. They have laid aside their differences to band together against a bunch of stooges for the Koch brothers. They don't have a leader, they are all leaders. There are several singers who are respected for their wisdom, and their advice is often sought, but nobody gives orders or collects dues.
All of these singers are my allies, many of them are fellow Kossacks, many of them are friends of mine. After four years, 350-odd arrests, some marriages, some births and some deaths, they are now a community.

Congratulations, SSA!
Some history below the fold.
