Or not.
Mitt "Money Boo Boo"
Romney says he's considering a 2016 run. I, for one, have been waiting for this news with bated breath since his failed 2008 and 2012 attempts. Of course, just one year ago, Romney ruled out a 2016 run. My guess is that he now needs to take credit for the 5.6% unemployment rate.
A third run makes Romney seem like desperate, damaged goods in my opinion. Plus, there is already such a large field of Republican flat-earthers that he would have to compete against. I, for one, can't wait to hear how the "job creators" need to keep more of their money--regardless of which GOP candidates throw their hats in the ring. Yet, Romney told a group of about 30 plutocrat donors "I want to be president". Well, I would like a date with Zena the Warrior Princess, but it does not mean it is going to happen. Yes, Mitt. Shit in one had and wish in the other.
Mitt says he is still concerned about the poor, and he is considering only purchasing one Learjet this year instead of two in order stand in solidarity with the lower classes. But that alone may not be enough is truly throws his hat into the ring. Many former staffers and such have moved over to the Jeb Bush camp.
“Frankly, he has been bypassed by Jeb,” said Doug Gross, Romney’s 2008 Iowa campaign chairman and longtime Bush ally. “The time for Governor Romney has probably passed. He has already lost twice. The jury is very much out on whether Republican voters would go with him again.”
Yet, there is dissension in the Big Tent. Veteran GOP consultant Ed Rollins said, “Romney knows that he can block donors from going to Bush if he sends a clear enough message.”
“If you put Romney and Bush head to head, I think Romney probably wins that fight,” Rollins said. “Nobody is wholesale walking away from him. The donor base and operatives are still there. Bush thought he’d have an open field to easily beat Christie. Romney, if he gets in, changes that plan.”
So, look for the GOP clown car to be especially full in 2016. Bobby Jindal, Chris Christie, Mittens, a Bush? And what of the Democrats? I'll take a Clinton over a Bush, but unless Elizabeth Warren gets some sway (not that she will likely run), the election will likely be between a GOP globalist and Democrat globalist that will fight to each other to give Wall Street the biggest rim job.
