Rep. Tom Price, another big-mouthed Republican.
Republicans just can't hide their giddiness over the prospect of the U.S. Supreme Court repealing Obamacare for them. The latest is
Rep. Tom Price, (R-GA) who has taken over the House Budget Committee.
A Supreme Court case that could cut off Obamacare’s subsidies to 34 states presents a “great opportunity” for Republicans to unravel the contentious overhaul, Rep. Tom Price said Monday. […]
Mr. Price threw his support behind the challenge, which says the IRS unlawfully extended subsidies to states that decided to rely on the federal portal known as HealthCare.gov.
"This unravels Obamacare pretty darn quickly. That's a good thing," Mr. Price, Georgia Republican and chairman of the House Budget Committee, said at a conservative policy summit hosted by the Heritage Foundation in Washington.
Like other Republicans, including
Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, and
John Cornyn and Wisconsin Gov.
Scott Walker, Price just can't keep the cat in the bag. Because the entire pretense behind this Supreme Court case against the law is that the plaintiffs aren't trying to kill it, they're trying to make it better. As long as everyone keeps pretending that they want to
fix the law and not
kill it, the court can pretend that they're ruling very narrowly, not being activist at all. But greedy Republicans keep messing that up.
The more honest Republicans are about their hopes and dreams for the death of Obamacare at Chief Justice John Roberts' hands, the harder they make it for him to strike that fatal blow.
