Welcome to Sunday All Day Brunch. This is an open topic thread so help yourself to the goodies and sit a spell and let us know what is new with you. I am one of those type A personalities who must be doing something at all times. I read a lot but most frequently I do something with my hands. I started early doing art. When I was older my Dad taught me how to sew. He was always making our snow suits when we were babies. When cleaning out the house I found two lined vests that he made for my Mom many years ago. They are in my closet now. Follow me under the orange Kos-de-fleur for a look at things that kept my hands busy.
Kos Katalogue is an online catalog of businesses owned by people who cherish and promote liberal values.
You can find prints of my artwork and photography on my Fine Arts America account.
You can find my jewelry for sale here.
You can find my scarves for sale here.
I have a Pinterest account that also features my art and jewelry.
Really dating myself here but in January 1969 my three younger brothers all wanted Nehru jackets.
I sewed a lot for my niece from her First Communion dress
To her dream dress of a Princess Bride Wedding Dress
To her Arwyn dress.
I also made the veil
The bridal bouquet
And the bridesmaid's fans for the wedding.
On Memorial Day each year I would make a new flower arrangement for my Dad's grave.
When I taught myself needlepoint my Mom became the recipient of the still life series.
Dad loved sailing ships and I made this stitchery piece for him which was always hung over their bed.
After so many of my stitchery pictures going to family I made the Oriental Songbirds for myself.
I did pen and ink etchings for a long time.
I did a lot of my earlier painting with acrylics. They dried quicker and it was easier to clean up if the cats got into the paint.
With the advent of arthritis I moved on to Graphic Art done on the computer.
One of my earliest purchases with my babysitting money was a Kodak Brownie Starlight camera. I have since moved on to digital photography.
I frequently get requests for things from my family. My niece wanted a replica of the original Tom Baker scarf for her Doctor Who loving husband. Their son modeled it for their Halloween pictures that year.
Now much of my knitting is for scarves that I sell.
I also love crocheting and did a bathroom set in Christmas colors.
I have made jewelry for many years and sold several pieces last year.
I have a couple more latch hook rugs to finish but this little guy brightens up my bedroom.
And of course we can't forget the yarn octopus that I learned to make many years ago.
And the many sock monkeys.
