So basically, you folks know who you are. You're the various executives, lawyers, consultants, publicists, interior decorators, and various other college educated professionals who flock around the folks Pope Buck I addresses in his open letter. You probably are thinking to yourself the messages in that letter don't apply to you, since youre just a regular old six figure income, gated community type. Or maybe youre just regular old rich rather than super rich. In fact, you might be even thinking 'hell yeah... stick it to the man!' Well, I say this to you guys:
You too are just as responsible as the guys just above you.
See, I know that no matter how rich and powerful those guys at the top are, they can't stay there if weren't for people like you. The people who protect them. Bend the laws in their favor. Spread their propaganda. Cater to their various whims and wants. Because there are lots of you, and so very few of them.
I also know you care more about preserving them in the status quo than they do, very often. This works out pretty good for you, doesn't it? So you might be giving them the kind of advice that runs contrary to the sort in the Pope's. In fact, I'm certain you do. In many cases, you all... the high end help... are worse than the folks you work for. Or, you might just think you could be helpful, but its too risky to your comfort. You'd like to be helpful, but there's only so much you can do. Right?
Here's what you do. Read that letter again, and just think 'this does apply to me. I am one of these people.'
That is all.
