Are you shocked that there appears to be some grifting going on in Ohio's charter school funding? (That's a rhetorical question, of course)
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Several Ohio charter schools have far fewer students showing up to class than they report to the state, according to a state auditor's investigation released Thursday.
The auditor said the report shows that the numbers the state relies on to fund the schools "are not terribly accurate."
State Rep. Teresa Fedor, a Toledo Democrat, said in a release that she will reintroduce a bill to establish a legislative committee to study the effectiveness of community schools and community school regulations. When she introduced the legislation last year, it stalled in the GOP-dominated House of Representatives.
