What is normal vs not normal?
What is different/normal vs abnormal?
How do we explain these to people especially struggling with autism and Asperger's whose sense of normal is way different? (This is because of the disconnections and hyperconnections within the brain)
The physiological, social, emotional, psychological, and life struggles these people undergo are unprecedented. It worsens when they are undiagnosed, brought up in a stigmatizing old-school culture, abusive environment, cruel society that is not understanding and way insufficient of providing support/nourishing resources. Being in a minority group, poor, male, LGBT, on top of autism= a gazallion strikes against you.
We have a tremendously long way to go to fulfill Martin Luther King's Dream for all humans.
It makes me angry that not enough is being done to help educate the public and keep a safe place for those who need it badly.
Depression
Anxiety
PTSD
Is so common among those struggling with disabilities and mental illness.
What can we do to fight for invisible people who are suffering due to no fault of their own? These people need connection, nourishment, non-judgement, and safety to live to their full potential. These people are necessary for humanity to survive and thrive.
