The Washington Post has an article online telling us that gasp Mrs. Bush has expensive taste in jewelry. We know the Bush's have money; where does the Post think we think she buys jewelry- from QVC?
Follow me past the orange cheese doodle for the real story.
The real story, which is mentioned but not considered very important by the reporters, is that Mrs. Bush bought $19,000 in jewelry on a 1999 trip to France, failed to report it when she passed through customs, was caught, and had to pay $4,100 in fines and duties.
Why didn't she declare the jewelry to Customs? Because "she didn't want her husband to know how much she spent on the trip." Give me a break. Like Jeb wouldn't notice the jewelry when she wore it? Like Jeb wouldn't have some idea of how expensive it was?
I think we all know the real reason she didn't declare the jewelry.
