Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. We're getting close to the membership cap, so we'll have to put you on a waiting list if you want to join. To get on the list, read this diary and visit the Guild web site. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome. |
More below the fold:
So we're a couple days into patch 6.1 - how is it going? I know there were supposed to be a bunch of changes to the garrisons, and the new blood elf models went live.
Let us know how the new patch is treating you, life changing or business as usual?
Let's go to the raid reports - starting with the Flexorama and Team Kaels report from Ninotchka:
I took the flexorama crew for a bit of progression raiding this week - in other words we killed 1 farm boss and spent the rest of the night wiping. I probably should have reevaluated after killing Hans and Franz – my personal performance on that fight was terrible. However, LFR wing 2 of Blackrock opened this week, and I wanted the rest of the guild to get a taste of the Flamebender fight. It’s quite simple mechanically, and I think we probably would have killed it in a couple more pulls. And we have a new battle cry – “Puppy time!”.
Speaking of LFR, I ran a guild LFR last Friday night specifically so that I would be in a group where we could kick out jerks. We didn’t run into any jerks, but we did have a nice smooth run. I put another guild LFR onto the calendar for this Friday for anyone who’s interested.
Team Kaels is now 4/10 in heroic mode. We downed Oregorger almost at the proverbial last pull last night – I think we had 10 minutes left in our raid night. I was (once again) terrible for most of the evening, and repeatedly killed the entire ranged and healer clump with my fail damage mitigation. But I eventually figured it out, we learned how to anticipate the danger zones, and the moment we made it through the second transition with almost everybody still alive we got our kill (just before enrage). Killing a new raid boss with your friends is one of the best feelings in the world.

Here's the Team PM report from Pamena:
Team PM report:
Last Thursday was one of those nights when most things that could go wrong did go wrong, but at the end of the night, I think we'd all agree we had fun anyway. Between butt pulls, face pulls, wayward barrages, and everything else, all we managed to do was the trash and heroic Butcher, after several wipes. We were laughing a lot though, and eventually we got him. Tuesday night was kind of less fun, but still fairly productive - we tried heroic Brackenspore, but after several wipes concluded that we needed Rhetorica for the mushroom healing, so we'll try again tonight perhaps. Since several of us had one of the new garrison raid quests to kill Brackenspore, we reset it to normal, and killed both Kargath and Brackenspore - and the assorted trash in between them - in 20 minutes.
We are close to trying Blackrock, perhaps tonight, definitely next week. I so much appreciate Nina running her flexorama on Wednesdays - those of us on Team PM with the time and stamina to raid 3 nights straight joined in last night and it was a great learning experience, even for those of us who got no loot. Our team represented well on the charts in dps and heals, so we may be ready to take a crack at Gruul at least and see how it goes.

That's all I have for this week.
For the Horde!
