Have I been out to lunch and missed the press release? Where the hell is the presumed Democratic nominee for President in 2016, Hillary Clinton, on the recently passed Arkansas law SB 202 that forces cities to strip any anti-discrimination protections locally that are not a protected class state wide?
Our dear Hillary, like Barack Obama (who I voted for twice) were cowards on marriage equality until the polls showed them they could champion it. Hillary's husband, of course, signed the Don't Ask Don't Tell and federal DOMA laws as a pander to more conservative Democrats and independents.
I suppose if you are not a member of a minority with historical discrimination, you may not care about this. What I know is I am. I am gay, openly gay.

I live in a city, Columbus, Ohio, which includes local ordinances forbidding discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Will the Ohio state legislature overturn those local ordinances like Arkansas just did for their state?
We have the religious bigots cornered like the wolves they are with the recent marriage equality wins, and they will be more emboldened when the US Supreme Court in June, as expected, rules marriage is a right for LGBT people as prescribed by the 14th Amendment.
They tried to pass a pro-discrimination law in Arizona last year, and after a public outcry, Republican governor Jan Brewer vetoed it. But Republican Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson took the cowards way out and merely chose not to sign or veto the bill, and it became law.
As the old saying goes, "It isn't over until the fat lady sings" and the fight for LGBT rights is not over yet, by a long shot.
Not only do we need to work to elect gay friendly people to local, state and national legislatures, but gay friendly executives as well. The courts may ultimately rule against these odious discrimination laws, but we cannot wait for that or take it for granted. Hobby Lobby is a good example of a US Supreme Court ready to protect religious liberty against the interests of other people.
