So March is Women's History Month, and one of my Facebook Groups is the US Fish and Wildlife Southeast Region. They post encouraging conservation stuff, and I enjoy hearing good news. Today they were sharing a nice story about Tamara Johnson, an African American woman who is listed as being an "Energy Biologist." First comment comes from so guy in Iowa. He is trolling the Fish and Wildlife Service with this nasty remark
Michael Mandt When is transsexual history month? Or Asian history month? What about Nigerian history month? Or people who have blue eyes history month? Why don't we make every month about history in general, seriously.
Quick as a button comes this reply:
USFWS Southeast Region Hi Michael, and thanks for following our page. LGBT Pride month is in June and Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month is in May. Though it looks like there isn't currently a Nigerian History, or blue-eyed history month. Perhaps the designated month isn't as important, as the movement/reminder of equality and taking pride in our differences.
Pwned Mr Troll.
I just such a kick out of it, I thought I would share it with you guys. Brighten your day to know some person out there is thinking ahead to LGBT Pride month and Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month at the Fish and Wildlife Service. Caught and released!
