Welcome to Wednesday Coffee Hour. This is an open topic thread so help yourself to the goodies and sit a spell and let us know what is new with you. One of the fun things about doing craft work is that you can customize things to fit a personality or season or even a request. Follow me below the orange fleur de Kos to see how I did this with sock monkeys.
I started out by making my first sock monkey and came up with Sue Sockey.

My family liked the sock monkey and a suggestion was made that I do them for the family. My niece helped me pick out the perfect socks. So the Christmas of 2010 found me deep into craft making as well as ordering L'arpies for the family.
She wanted hearts of course for he husband Kevin. He loves Doctor Who and Superman so he got a Superman L'arpie, and a Tardis blue octopus complete with bow tie.

Daughter Kayla loves math and of course cows and "cowqlus." She loves her iPad and the color purple.

Tristen loves things Celtic. He is also our über geek and tech support. He loves the color orange.

Zack loves puppies, video games, and the color green.

Of course I couldn't forget Berni. She knew of the sock monkeys of course but not the L'arpies. She just got her Master's degree and she loves the color red.

Reid came along and wanted an argyle sock monkey that he named Angus.

He then decided he wanted a Retro girlfriend for Angus and I made Twiggy.

Reid was getting physical therapy and his therapist asked if I could make one for a new baby.

I also decided that I need another one for myself and made Desiree.

At this point Reid decided we needed sock monkeys for all the major holidays. We started with St. Patrick's Day.
