I don't think the email thing showed great judgement.
But it certAinly seems to have been legal.
I feel Hillary was at a transitional time. In the future, more and more public officials will release their email.
But the secretaries before Clinton did not release their emails. Try to find Colin Powell email. You can't.
And of course Jeb bush had his own server. So good luck to him trying to make this an issue.
So what's the scandal? Is it that the server didn't have good security? To be fair, during the same period, the state dept itself was hacked. And no evidence that Hilary's was hacked.
Is it that she isn't releasing all the emails or we don't know which ones are released? I suspect she is releasing most of the work emails. And even if she had used the state dept acct, she probably could have deleted emails.
Is it that she set up the server to avoid transparency? I'm not sure she did. Her explanation that it was for convenience is plausible. At the time of 2008, it was not straightforward to configure blackberry for multiple accts.
The whole email affair isn't great. But I think most democrats will eventually view it as a minor irritant. And if the republicans want to make this the cornerstone of their campaign, good luck with that.
