Alternet put up an article asking people to not be afraid of their tap water.
In most areas of the country buying bottled water is probably not necessary since bottled water is often the exact same stuff that comes out of the tap.

However how safe is your water really?
Does the EPA do a good enough job with it's list of only 90 contaminates that your city water has to test for, when there literally 10's of thousands of chemical compounds out there?
Did they pick enough of the most dangerous substances that can land in drinking water through fracking, industry, and farming practices?
Con't:

http://www.epa.gov/...
Section 8 (b) of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) requires EPA to compile, keep current, and publish a list of each chemical substance that is manufactured or processed in the United States.
Today more than 84,000 chemical substances are on the Inventory
There are only 90 contaminants listed, that are required to be tested for in city water supplies. Anything not on the list is not monitored.

The fracking industry is immune to EPA standards and there is no comprehensive public knowledge on what does go into fracking fluid.
Haliburton has a public list that is available, but I'm fairly certain that all the chemicals they use is not on it.
Here is a list of chemicals in just one of their formulas:

Are you worried that a chemical, that is not being tested for in your water supply, could be harming you or members of your family?
