Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) did what he does best at a GOP event that was held in New Hampshire. The event was held by the Strafford County Republican Committee. He lied and scared a group of Americans in the same manner done by the late Senator Joseph McCarthy.
"Millions of Americans are realizing this isn't working," Ted Cruz said. "The Obama economy is a disaster. Obamacare is a train wreck. And the Obama / Clinton foreign policy of leading from behind."
For the low information listener those words are scary. They have developed a blind belief in the rhetoric of politicians like Ted Cruz.
The reality is that the economy is not a disaster. In fact President Obama's job creation numbers in the last two years are almost as good as President Bill Clinton's. One knows the economy is moving when even a misinforming mainstream media starts acknowledging the reality.
Obamacare is firing on all cylinders. Even NBC's host of Meet The Press Chuck Todd had to admit that fact in a piece he did that was surprisingly good. What is ironic is that Red States have been the biggest beneficiaries of Obamacare as they had the largest drop in the uninsured rate. Texas, Ted Cruz's state has left over one million of its citizens uninsured for its refusal to accept the Medicaid expansion to the Affordable Care Act.
Does this man not understand the psychological effect he has on the young and uninformed? Does he not understand the paranoia he is causing? Of course he does. That is his intent. When one subscribes to a failed ideology, deception is all that is available to keep power.
Ted Cruz was half right about one thing. The government Republicans advocate is good at screwing things up. They are great at ensuring the middle-class remains stagnant in order to maximize the wealth of their benefactors.
