Ok, Netanyahu didn't actually say those words so they aren't in quotes. But, he essentially did say that.
When this is what you say:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel said Monday that as long as he is the leader, a Palestinian state would not be established, reversing his support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Mr. Netanyahu made the assertion on the eve of an election in which he is trailing in the polls. He has been campaigning aggressively, appealing to conservatives for support.
“I think that anyone who is going to establish a Palestinian state today and evacuate lands, is giving attack grounds to the radical Islam against the state of Israel,” he said in a video interview published on the NRG website. “Anyone who ignores this is sticking his head in the sand. The left does this time and time again. We are realistic and understand.”
Asked if he meant that a Palestinian state would not be established if he were to continue as Israel’s prime minister, Mr. Netanyahu replied: “Correct.”[emphasis added]
What you are saying is: bring on more war and bring on more death and suffering for Palestinians and Israelis--but far more for Palestinians--because I don't care about anything but my own power.
To be clear, I don't think this megalomaniac, psychotic individual ever believed in peace. He's only interested in his own power--and the way in which he and his equally narcissistic wife can rip off the country's treasury for their own personal benefit.
Death? A February 2015 report from Gaza from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA):
Approximately 100,000 Palestinians remain displaced this winter, living in dire conditions in schools and makeshift shelters not designed for long-term stay. Scheduled power cuts persist for up to 18 hours a day. The continued non-payment of the salaries of public sector employees and the lack of progress in the national unity government further increases tensions. With severe restrictions on movement, most of the 1.8 million residents ar e trapped in the coastal enclave, with no hope for the future.
Bearing the brunt of this suffering are the most vulnerable, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, women and nearly one million children, who have experienced unimaginable suffering in three major conflicts in six short years. Children lack access to quality education, with over 400,000 of them in need of immediate psychosocial support.
This follows a war in which 2,205 Palestinians were killed, including at least 1,483 civilians, of whom 521 were children and 283 were women, 500,000 Palestinians were displaced at the height of the hostilities and over 100,000 are still displaced, partly because approximately 18,000 housing units were destroyed or severely damaged.
Yes, elect me say the Emperor--and I promise to bring more of the same. The blood-lust of this man knows no bounds.
