Excuse me whilst I try to defrost my brain
United States intelligence agencies detected the deployments in the past few weeks as Iraq was marshaling a force of 30,000 troops — two-thirds of them Shiite militias largely trained and equipped by Iran, according to three American officials. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence reports on Iran.
Iran has not yet launched any of the weapons, but American officials fear the rockets and missiles could further inflame sectarian tensions and cause civilian casualties because they are not precision guided. Their deployment is another dilemma for the Obama administration as it trains and equips the Iraqi military and security services to help defeat the Islamic State, but unlike Iran is unwilling to commit fighters and advisers who join Iraqi forces in the field.
Excuse me but since when have we worried about:
Destabilizing Iraq
Sectarian Violence
Killing Iraqis
We merrily waltzed into Iraq for no good reason, overthrew a government, ovesaw the election of a sectarian government and killed God knows how many Iraqis along the way. In the process the Ba'ath Party leaders who we banned from participating in the new Americanized Iraq went and formed a terrorist group called ISIS.
Now because of Iranghazi we start to care?
The second senior American military official said the Iranian missiles are “not a big deal at this point,” but then quickly added, “My concern, as with artillery and other non-precise weapons, is collateral damage if they employ them.”
Then we ignore the elephants in the room:
The funding network/arms trade that supports both ISIS and Al Qaeda.
The sectarian discrimination of the government we placed in power in Baghdad.
That half a million Iraqis died during our wars with them, since our weapons were designed to reduce collateral damage, one can only assume that this was targeted and deliberate?
Torture? Oh do be quiet.
Can we first please sort out, who our friends are, who we support, who we are fighting against and why?
Otherwise it might be better to keep out of the bloodbath we helped create just in case we make it worse.
The nearly quarter of a million dead in Syria, what, oh right, we forgot.
We may have to deal with Assad, Turkey goes ballistic.
Israel, depends if Bibi is re-elected, will throw as many wrenches as it takes to keep the shit well and truly stirred up.
Palestinians, oh right, never mind.
Libya, oh Oopsey Daisy
Lebanon, where?
Pakistan? Oh shush.
The Kurds, oh, they will be happy no matter what.
As for Afghanistan, looks like we are staying just a bit longer.
My conclusion from all of this.
Apparently only the US knows how to bomb properly, otherwise the rest of it is completely unintelligible.
I suppose the GOP could write another letter, it would probably be better written if Bibi did it for them.
Just a thought
