When I first saw this picture in Knoxville, Tennessee, I figured it had to be from the 1960s. Nope. 2015.
Of course, the Pastor tells us that we are not reading it right.
"We just want people to know that if you're going to fight for equal rights, you should be careful not to hurt other people."
Of course, this was aimed at LGBT Rights, but this church (headed by a white pastor) posted this in a church that is surrounded by a black neighborhood.
The church is not answering calls and cannot understand why everyone's angry. Less than 24 hours after they posted it, they took it down and put up, instead, "Thanks for reading. Sorry for the misunderstanding. We all need Christ."
