Angie in WA State's "Profile" pointed out something that I had forgotten from my many years ago in History class. You see the Hill is not afraid of demonstrations as she point out. Yes they put up a fuss, but it's mainly the local city officials that as some call "have a cow", and then go bonkers on the demonstrators. The Hill is all about the money. As long as it is coming in they are happy. Take the money away, and all hell breaks loose.
Angie pointed out what happen to FDR. When FDR took office the United States was a mess. The country was in the midst of the worst economic crisis in its history. It was 1933 and soup kitchens were the norm in every city, and lines were long. If the soup kitchens had not of been the norm 13 million American's would of starved to death.
11,000 banks had closed their doors, and the U.S. banking system had all but ceased to function. The few American people working went on strike 1931-32. The idea was that with as little money that was coming in, would not be coming in and everyone knows for all countries it's "all about the money". After FDR was elected he feared that without immediate and dramatic action to get the economy going, the country might slip into revolution. The New Deal was born right after he took office, and for 200 days 16 new Bills went into effect to jump start the economy. Plus a host more as they saw how the economy was doing. One of the first 16 was dropped a few months after signed into law. A few others lost their usefulness a few years later.
Before I bore you on this I will stop with the history and come back to the present day. You can look all of this up. :)
Today everything important in America to a good quality of life is very expensive. Many people including children are homeless. Quite a few are holding down several part time jobs in order to survive. Small towns are struggling.
Our Government is in shambles. Lobbyist run the Hill. The education system is a total mess and the public is still waiting for it to be fixed 13 years later.
Roads in America are a very bad accident fixing to happen. Many people have asked for a flat tax to replace the complicated and abused tax laws we have now, and to eliminate the IRS which would save the tax payers billions.
Healthcare cost are through the roof also. Can you imagine paying out 40 grand every two months for healthcare? I know someone right now that is doing exactly that. Ten years ago this same person was paying 5 grand every two months.
Basically there is not much that hasn't gone to the dogs, or worse and at the White House they act like they care, and the House and Senate act like they care, and nothing gets done. The only stuff that seems to get done are the stuff that involve big Corp names that new laws favor them.
I am bringing this to the attention of everyone to see if it would be feasible to have an American business Strike across America? All businesses that can participate should. Those that can't would be healthcare, police, and fire.
As Angie pointed out The Feds don't care if we march down the streets. What they do care about is the almighty dollar bill. So I am thinking the strike should be around a date in July. This gives the public time to prepare, and helps give time to those to spread the word. So that would be three months + depending on the date in July. This is just a suggestion for the date, and reasons above are my own, so that is up for debate also. We would need to create a list of demands, and have the ones that we know for certain what we want done noted. Objections should be submitted as well.
