Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC)
House Republicans
took the next step in their desire to go poking around in Hillary Clinton's private emails on Friday afternoon, with a letter from Benghazi committee chair Trey Gowdy to Clinton's lawyer:
"I am asking Secretary Clinton to relinquish her server to a neutral, detached and independent third-party, such as the Inspector General for the State Department, for review and an independent accounting of any records contained on the server, including a determination of which documents in the Secretary's possession belong to the State Department and which are private," Gowdy wrote to Clinton lawyer David Kendall.
If Clinton doesn't comply by April 3, Gowdy could ask the full House to vote on a subpoena. How quaint—a Republican-controlled House of Representatives digging around in the personal life of a Clinton. All for the pure and noble thought of #Benghazi!, of course.
