HBO Now and Net Neutrality
So HBO and Showtime and maybe some other over the top services (OTT) want to be considered a managed service and get preferential treatment of their stream. How do you all feel about this? On the one hand, it could be consumer friendly as if OTT services were given priority treatment they could guarantee quality of service (QoS) and might be a better alternative for cord cutters or cord shavers. On the other hand, isn't this a direct violation of the concept/spirit of net neutrality, if not the letter of the regulation? Big giant OTT providers that can afford being a managed service and guaranteeing QoS giving them an advantage over other OTT services that can not afford to pay.
