There is something clearly off
about this man.
In a Tuesday morning interview, [Sen. Ted Cruz] said he used to be a classic rock fan but was disappointed in how the genre responded to the terrorist attack.
Contemplate that for a moment. It is true, however;
classic rock did not much "respond" to 9/11. Did John Lennon write a new song? Did Kurt Cobain? No, they did not. And that is where
classic rock lost Ted Cruz.
"Music is interesting. I grew up listening to classic rock. And I'll tell you sort of an odd story: My music tastes changed on 9/11. I actually intellectually find this very curious, but on 9/11, I didn't like how rock music responded," Cruz said on CBS's "This Morning" when asked about his music tastes.
The conservative firebrand suggested this reaction sharply contrasted with the patriotism displayed by the country music industry. He said he had an epiphany and has been listening to country ever since.
In other words, Ted Cruz discovered he liked that one song. You know, the song that was omnipresent for years afterwards, the song that was played at state fairs and in hardware stores and pressed into golden discs to be fired in the general direction of Alpha Centauri. This was the America Ted Cruz had always longed for; how had it taken so long?
As to how rock music "responded" to 9/11 and why that earned Ted Cruz's scorn, there is no further explanation. All we know is that Ted Cruz likes country music now because of 9/11.
