Several other news outlets and blogs have run with the story including some here on DailyKos (i.e. http://www.dailykos.com/... by Tasini)
President Obama wants fast track authority for these bad trade deals that, in my opinion, will cause even more people to lose their jobs. The GOP is all for this trade deal and they have majorities in both houses, so it will likely go through.
They must pay off their corporate puppet masters after all. What better way than to hand them a blank check, payable from the taxpayers of the countries in which this will be enacted?
Is this enough to get Americans up off the couch and into the street?
No probably not.
Would allowing corporations to pollute your water, land and air be enough?
NO?
How about having to pay, not only the clean up costs of the pollution that corporations wreaking havoc on the environment will cost taxpayers, but also if legislation goes through to prevent any more damage, that those same taxpayers will also have to come up with the cash for "lost revenue" of those same corporations?
Not Yet?
What will it take for Americans, and other countries citizens to take a stand against the damage being done to us all in the name of CAPITALISM AND OLIGARCHY?
What are your thoughts on why citizens seem to be unwilling to stand up and say no to CORPORATOCRACY AND OLIGARCHY.
I haven't seen any text from T-TIP yet but I'm fairly certain that the language will be similar if not exactly the same.
We seem to have lost our way as a Country, a Democracy, and a Republic.
How do we get power away from the corporatists in both parties?
I honestly don't know how to motivate people into action.
What are your ideas.

Corporations Win Big in Battle against Investment Regulation
https://www.globalpolicy.org/...
"Multinational corporations (MNCs) are allowed to sue national governments for enforcing regulations which allegedly violate the bilateral investment treaties (BITs) that the two actors initially agreed upon. These national regulations often aim to protect the environment, promote public health, and regulate the economy. However, regulations may also lower profits for MNCs. According to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), there have been 450 known lawsuits brought by companies against governments. Chevron, for example, sued Ecuador for $78 million for the country’s efforts to protect that Amazon, an act that has negatively affected Chevron’s business. In this article, the author notes that BITs allow companies to sue governments, but not vise-versa."
