Elect a Bush, get a war. One person's historical hard-on is another's opti-phallocratic power obsession. It's not about narrative or conspiracy but about how some very basic economic developments are still predicated on political alliances. Those coalitions were based on colonial politics that have historically affected natural resources as property and we have seen more clearly now how sectarian conflicts are entwined with that human history. "
The Project for the New American Century ceased to function in 2006", but its legacy and its bit players remain with us.
It still goes back to the rise of Reaganism with the Iranian hostage crisis and the subsequent creation of Al-Q from various global adventures.
Then goes to the fulfillment of that fantasy with the 1991 Iraq War as a precursor to controlling one oil-rich flank of the Axis of Evil much like the coming Egyptian incursion into Yemen.
Then goes to completing that continuing wish-fulfillment in the 2003 invasion of Iraq with the delusion that oil-profits would recuperate an Iraq infrastructure and social fabric fragmented by invasion culminating in the rise of ISIS.
2016 and Jeb! will give us that same lineage of death and destruction and now with even more RW apocalyptic Biblical prophecy! Or at best Jeb! will edge us closer to it if he wins in 2016.
The historical infill of course is the enabling of this lineage by other political actors but the global economy is only re-energized by continuing sectarian violence as the planet itself erodes. And it hasn't stopped map-makers from hypothesizing the shape of Armageddon even though they might not live to see it.
