Standard disclaimer: Leave your loathing of meta, World of Warcraft, or community diaries outside. If you think we should be playing your MMO instead, start a guild and write a recruitment diary. Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Link to your recruitment diary is OK though. |
Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. We're getting close to the membership cap, so we'll have to put you on a waiting list if you want to join. To get on the list, read this diary and visit the Guild web site. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome. |
More below the fold:
When I was digging around trying to find a topic to talk about, I came across this article on BlizzardWatch about pet addons.
Now, pet battling isn't something I do a lot of and what little I do is mostly thanks to the help and generosity of guildie pet battlers. Hopefully, telling y'all about these addons will help in return.
With that, let's go to the raid reports! First off this week is Tvath with the Team Z report:
Team Z got its first two Blackrock Foundry kills last weekend, downing Gruul and Hans/Franz with relative ease! We also took a few stabs at Oregorger but that's going to take a little longer to learn the dance. Thanks to everyone who helped out!
And in that spirit of recognition, Jantuk and I have decided to expand the raid leadership team to three and add Brumal/Eschatos to the helm. It's not really anything different from what he already does -- providing information, acting as a calm and good-humored presence, and of course tanking like a big tanky thing. Hail Brumal!

Let me add my congratulations. Good on ya, Brumal.
Now here's Ninotchka with the Team Kaels and Flexorama rreport:
Team Kaels continues to make good progress through heroic Blackrock Foundry. This week we dispatched all of our 'farm' bosses, although we had to do some practice runs on Thogar. I think I, personally, didn't completely understand the fight when we downed it last week, so this week involved more learning experiences. We had a rough time of it, but we were able to repeat our kill from last week and move on to work on the Iron Maidens encounter. Our main gripe (unless you're talking to the death knight, mage or druids) is that tier bosses don't seem to have any tier tokens that aren't Vanquisher.
Flexorama is going to be moving back to Highmaul, now that so many of the guild's raid teams are working on various levels of Blackrock. I'm hoping to get some of the raid achievements, er, achieved. I'm also a bit concerned that we've moved away from being the guild's entry point for people who want to start raiding or people who want to gear up an alt in a friendly non-pug environment. Wreck List does not recruit raiders from outside the guild, we prefer to grow our own, and I want flexorama to be part of the solution.

And last but not least, we have the Team PM report from Pamena::
Team PM is pretty much over Highmaul, at least until Hrira is able to rejoin the team in a few weeks - the only real reason for us to go back is to get Ahead of the Curve, which would require clearing Highmaul on heroic (we got to 4//7 before turning our attention to Blackrock Foundry.) That might be something we could join forces with Nina's flexorama to get done if we don't do it as a team.
In BRF, we're close to being ready for heroic - it's a delicate balance in a smaller group like ours to have the right mix on all these bosses. Last Thursday, we had a good night - we did 3 heroic bosses in Highmaul to get everyone in the group the right number of heroic kills to start getting mythic gear from HM garrison missions, and then went over to BRF to work on Flamebender. We made good progress, and I think we can probably get her down tonight or next Tuesday. Tuesday night, we started a fresh normal run, so people could get gear from Gruul and Hanz and Franz - we wiped more than we should have, and I'm afraid we're going to have to keep our numbers below 15, particularly as we are losing one of our great healers, Halitosis who is taking a game break. Nonetheless, we did get both of them, and with a few minutes to spare, decided to try Beastmaster rather than Oregorger - and one shot him, much to our satisfaction (and possibly surprise!)
I want to try heroic BRF next week - we'll see if that looks feasible.

That's all I have for this week. For the Horde!
