Despite the multiple articles I have read, whether from CNN or NPR, nobody has bothered to mention the initial claim of a broken tail light.
These "reporters" don't even qualify their reporting with allegedly, or purportedly.
None so deaf as those that will not hear. None so blind as those that will not see.
I notice CNN has deemed it very important to note, in text throughout the video, that the driver fled and owed back child support. The "reporter" says, "Still a routine stop for a broken tail light," as any person can literally see functioning brake lights in broad day light.
Twenty years ago, when I was a print reporter, I would have thrown "allegedly for a broken tail light" into that sentence as a basic acknowledgement to the reality in front of my eyes. But, then again, I have the capacity to feel shame. Apparently, CNN's reporters don't.
Am I the only one who notices that logic is quickly nearing extinction?
Obviously I want to contact every news organization and reporter who overlooked this fact, but I am drowned out by the hysterical masses.
It looks like the both brake lights are functioning, and it is daylight and many other cars also are not displaying running lights. So it seems like the initial reason for the stop is the first of many lies.
This seems like one of the most relevant details of this video, and that it is never mentioned by any reporter or commentator that I have yet to find.
