Rand Paul talked about the Democrats adding debt recently, ignoring the entire economic Wall Street debacle they and GW Bush brought us and the 4 trillion dollar Iraq War travesty, he reminds me of a street mugger blaming their victim for vagrancy.
But it's worse than that! They are doing everything possible to stop the first responders from coming to the aid of the mugging victim ie you and me by denying expansion of Medicaid, blocking every jobs bill and cutting aid to poor women and children WIC/SNAP.
But it's worse than that! Paul and his Republicans even stop the roads and bridges the first responders need to drive down to help their mugging victims from being repaired by blocking spending on the transportation trust that generations of Americans have counted on for safety.
And they keep cutting taxes on the richest one percent of wealthiest Americans and cutting regulations on the same banks who brought not only our economy but the entire world's economy to its knees and then complain that America's public education is failing our children! Not one generation ago my siblings could attend a state college in California for nearly free and they returned that investment multifold by becoming teachers and business leaders. College tuition has increased 1000 percent since my siblings attended college in large part due to the massive tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans and corporations starving state budgets.
Government is not the problem! Government controlled by the rich and bent to their self interests while starving public investment is the problem.
Let us not forget the pain and misery caused by tragically mistaken foreign intervention and domestic neglect and abuse of our public trust. Do not forget! Remember the veterans of today's tragic war too often fill the ranks of tomorrows broken lives and homeless heroes. Remember that we are only as strong as we are able to care for the weakest and most vulnerable among us. Remember we are only as safe in the world as we are broadly prosperous and healthy at home and that takes a fair economy that invests in its young people, pays women an equal fair wage and provides humane affordable health care. These are the things the Republican Party have no intention of doing and in fact have been fighting to stop.
So you decide. War or peace, rising wages for all or control of all the wealth for a few who already have nearly everything already. You decide if education should be a way our country makes money on our students backs or a way our country lifts future generations up on all of our shoulders. You decide when you vote, when you donate to populous progressive candidates, when you knock on your neighbors door and talk to them in line about our birthright to a fair and just society for all and our duty to vote for it. Let's decide together. This can change, this unjust rigged economy and war hungry lust by the few for power can and must change. Our choice is clear, work together or fail together.
