First I want to welcome all of our new members and say thanks for reading and commenting on our diaries. It always is great to hear from you. We hope more of you will decide to contribute your stories from your points of view. Just as our pain comes from different sources our journeys through life have been different and we want to share your's. Please feel free to write your own story and share it with the group. If you wish we can make it so you are not named as the author. They don't have to be perfect. Don't worry we can help clean up the grammar and stuff if you wish or better yet just publish it the way you wrote it. It is your story after all.
Our group was started because 3 of us decided we had to at least try and do something about the way pain patients are being treated. For us it is a first hand journey through HELL on a daily basis. We decided we had to stand up and fight for our rights as human beings. We have as much right to be happy and pain free as people who's bodies are in perfect shape. We want what every person who sees a doctor wants. We want the doctor to fix us or at least make it so we can make it through a day without having to scream or cry from the pain.
There are literally millions of people in the US who are classified as living in chronic pain. That is a heck of a lot of people. The three of us really don't think it is fair that people are left in pain on a daily basis because doctors are afraid of treating us effectively. There are many reasons for this including lawsuits from relatives who might file a lawsuit if we were to die during care but also because they are afraid of going to jail for treating us. Even the best doctors have malpractice suits. That is why they carry malpractice insurance. What they don't have is a get out of jail free card.
Doctors who treat chronic pain patients have to watch their backsides not just for malpractice lawsuits but for the DEA. You can find out much more here at this link to one of my recent diaries on that subject. DEA War On Docs
So doctors have decided the route of least resistance is to allow people to live in pain. This way they can help people a little and stay out of jail. Is that really how freaking healthcare is supposed to work ? Are doctors supposed to be looking over their shoulders for big brother and worrying if this treatment or that will land them in jail ? Isn't it time we put a stop to this ? We don't need protection from doctors. We need protection from the DEA practicing medicine by scaring doctors from truly helping patients.
Our little group wants to help all of those who suffer in chronic pain day in and day out. You may know a few and know how their lives have changed since they have had to learn to deal with this daily pain. We can use your stories. We want to shine a light on this and allow the doctors to treat us completely. So please share your story. You may not know it but someone may be helped just by reading about your experiences.
Thanks and hope to see stories from you soon.
