At the age of 39 when the first gas well came in near my home I took one pill a day...ONE. It was a migraine preventative that I had been on for years. Thanks to that one little pill I only suffered two, sometimes three migraines a year. Now here I am almost seven years later and I average anywhere from seven to thirteen pills a day. I can not give you the exact count of gas wells around my home but the last attempt there were nine in under a mile along with an injection well (Waster Water Disposal Well). I use the term Injection Well because myself along with several of my neighbors suffer no less than two hours a day, five min. increments of our brick homes shaking and accompanied by a loud noise. It's nothing compared to the 42+ earthquakes we've endured over the past year and a half yet still it's nerve racking to straighten pictures on your walls DAILY!!!
There use to be the wonderful document that has long since been forgotten. It was known as the U.S. Constitution. It allowed for United States Citizens the right to feel safe in their own homes. That is not the case for most of us anymore. Our government has decided the the almighty dollar is worth more than our lives and we are the ones to pay.
I went to Austin and stood before the Texas Rail Road Commission. They are, after all, the Commission responsible for overseeing these wells, issuing permits, doing inspections etc. I was shocked at what I learned. They told me that the wells in Texas are only inspected once, some of them twice, annually due to lack of manpower.
The Gas Industry is exempt from the Safe Drinking Water Act and they don't have to tell anyone and apparently everyone is clueless as to what chemicals they are using during the tracking process. So here are a few of my concerns:
1. If a tornado should hit an injection well/waste water disposal well where these chemicals are stored until injected, WHAT HAZMAT TEAM ON THE PLANET IS PREPARED FOR THAT CLEAN UP?
2. In all the haste to get this natural gas did anyone ever decide when enough would be enough?
3. Did anyone ever stop to think about the ground soil once they where done? There's a reason you can google earth states like mine and see nothing but white marks all over the place. It's not the white rocks they put down. We all know if you or I used those rocks in our yards within months grass would start to cover it, not here, not on these sites. It's the Radioactive Tracers they are allowed to use to check for fractures in the piping while Fracking!
4. Google the number of towns that have ran out or are running out of water in Texas then check NOAA for the drought records, it's not any worse than it has been. Then look at a map of the fracking in the area.
5. Why are local farmer and anyone for that matter with a water well allowed to sale their water to the Gas Industry? It's actually not their water! That water comes from underground reservoirs that can be traced back to those cities water supplies!
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE
Then some of you NOT ALL OF YOU but some of you are the same people that want to complain when you end up in my boat going from perfectly healthy to legally disabled in under two years. Spending your days going from your PCP to pain management to an endocrinologist, neurologist, neurosurgeon and the list just keeps going!!!!!
