I'll be brief. Cruz is so demented that voting for Cruz in the primaries is a service to democracy and to the Democratic party. Ted Cruz is articulate, but he is also at least borderline delusional. Although generally speaking delusional thinking is no impediment to public office, particularly for Republicans, being deluded about who will support you is an impediment.
Then there are the outright lies Cruz has been telling. According to PolitiFact Texas, http://www.politifact.com/... About 18% of Cruz's statements are lies, and only 1% represent the honest truth.
In the past he has tried to bring the discussion of assault weapons into Senate hearings on gun safety, even though it was unlikely in the extreme that anyone, no matter how pro-gun, would support him. He voted against confirming John Kerry as Secretary of State because he said that he felt that Senator Kerry did not support a strong national defense despite the fact that Senator Kerry earned a Silver Star and a Bronze Star in the navy. Now this delusion wouldn't be a problem, lies are part and parcel of Republican politics, but it won't fly when examined by the national press. Cruz's more recent statements about Obamacare's 16-member death panels, and shortages of aspirin under Obamacare, also will not work when the press is looking to fill a slow news day. Then of course there was Cruz's leadership in shutting down the government in 2013 in an attempt to stop the roll out of the Affordable Care Act. Not only did it not work, but it couldn't have worked, and lost him party support.
Most recently, three days ago, Cruz was mocked by Senator McCain (R) for lying about Senator McCain. See http://www.dailykos.com/... This is an example of how Cruz is losing his party's support. We must step in! Taken together, Senator Cruz is a liberal's dream candidate (for Republicans of course). I suggest we all work together to keep Cruz's candidacy alive. Remember. Vote Cruz!
