As governor Tom Wolf said he would in his campaign promises, On January 29th 2015, Governor Wolf signed a state executive order for moratoriums on new leases for oil and gas drilling in state parks and forest in Pennsylvania.
originally, in 2010, there were moratoriums in place for such drilling. Our previous Governor, Gov. Corbett, lifted the moratorium on drilling off new gas and oil wells and how are 120 state parks and 20 state forests. This is a huge decision when you consider the friend that the gas company had in Corbett, allowing them free reign over state owned land that should never have been touched in the first place.
Governor Wolf made this a point of emphasis because this was done less than a month after he was sworn in. our new Governor is a friend to nature, and our state owned lands, that should be used for the people of the great state of Pennsylvania.
It will also boost our tourism because these lands can now be used as they were intended for, to serve the people and preserve the for the recreation on the natural beauty that once was our fine and fair State.
