Ted Yoho is a Tea Party Republican who currently represents Florida’s 3rd District in Congress. He was interviewed today by Craig Melvin on MSNBC and was asked about House Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunes’ tactics in revealing intelligence information about the investigation of Trump’s campaign staff to the President. Yoho defended Nunes, and made the following statement.
“You have to keep in mind who he works for,” Yoho told MSNBC. “He works for the president and answers to the president.”
What ??!!
Melvin tried to give him a second chance by asking if Nunes doesn’t actually work for the constituents who elected him. Yoho doubled down.
“You do both,” Yoho said. “But when in that capacity, if you’ve got information, I’m okay with what he did.”
Wow. Just wow. How do you respond to that? My brain just literally exploded.
Moments later in the same interview, Yoho claimed, apparently with no sense of irony, that HE doesn’t work for the President, HE works for the people who elected him.
Melvin pointed out that Yoho had claimed just moments before that Nunes worked for the president, and the lawmaker stumbled.
“As a congressman, they work for their constituents, as a chairman of a committee, he has, okay?” Yoho said.
Well, never mind then.
