A failure to see yourself living in a different body (from ignorance of knowledge of the benefits of doing so, for example) should make it hard for say a white male's mind to see success in Obama. I am not going to detail quite what I mean when I write "see yourself in a different body". That can be a homework assignment if you ever think about this little diary again. ["What did he mean by that? How can that be a potential reason for why it's Obama's fault (in the mind of some or other white male)?"]
And it's not just Obama. It's virtually anyone you don't automatically identify closely with (empathize reflexively). It includes women. It includes people of many different appearances and feature sets. Obama has the particular fault that he attained a high and visible position of "success" and has characteristics many others would ordinarily like in a person in themselves.
Obama would not be a role model. He would be a top competitor. "Watch him lose! I swear it!!!"
[Hopefully there is the prologue where the white male figures out how to see themselves in a different body and tries to make up for the terrible feeling of a wrong that was done to the country in pursuit of a confused mental state. And I'm just picking on "white male" to get a point across. The main gist obviously can apply to anyone, even to someone who looks just like Obama. (twin jealous of twin? never!)]
