There are only a few out male gay Journalist anchors. Today there is one less.
Mediaite has learned that MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts is officially out at the network and will be replaced by Bloomberg’s David Gura. The network is claiming that Roberts is moving on and has provided the following statement:

Thomas Roberts has served as a news anchor on MSNBC and has filled in at NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt on NBC. He also has the honor of being the first openly gay anchor of the nightly news when he guest hosted in 2015.
Roberts has been on MSNBC since 2010. Last December MSNBC quietly canceled his show Live with Thomas Roberts after 2 years. since then hes been just guest hosting.

Frankly I thought that MSNBC has been jerking him around for a long time. As a gay man it upset me greatly how he was treated by MSNBC over the years but he joining the ranks of a large amount of host they have treated badly.
While there are a few opinion hosts (Don Lemon etc.) who are gay this leaves only Shepard Smith as the only major News anchor who is openly gay. Not many role models for gay youth who want to work in the TV news business.
EDIT:
I left Anderson Cooper out above as I was thinking of only the Big 4 (ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox) while I was writing that line. Roberts was guest hosting NBC nightly news and Smith hosts breaking news on Big Fox.
Hes on twitter if you want to send him a message.

His wikipedia page gives detail of his career if you are interested.

Seems confirmed. IMHO very sad day.
I will always remember him reporting this way. I hope he lands a better job.
ONE GREAT DAY IN AMERICA!
