NBC ran interference for Weinstein by killing the story Ronan Farrow had been working on. Their reputation took a big hit because the network was clearly swayed by the high-level enablers of Weinstein’s predation.
NBC protected Lauer for years by looking the other way as evidence of his behavior mounted. They fired him and went public only when they knew Variety wouldn’t hold back on publishing it’s piece. Their reputation has taken another hit.
But the biggest kahuna is still out there. They’re still protecting Donald Trump.
Bill Pruitt, a producer on the first two seasons of The Apprentice, tweeted that there were “far worse” behind-the-scenes tapes of Trump on the programme.

Why won’t NBC release the outtakes from The Apprentice that document sexual and racial harassment by former NBC reality TV star Donald Trump? They are newsworthy, and along with MGM, NBC has control over them.
