How many ways can a president fail? If you are Donald Trump, they are too many ways to count. Four days have passed since those terrible events took place in Charlottesville, VA, and Donald Trump has yet to call Charlottesville Mayor Michael Signer. Can anyone imagine President Obama, the man who was tasked with uniting the nation in the wake of so many tragedies, waiting this long to perform this very important role of the president? Of course you can’t because Obama was a real president, unlike President Orange Satan. Summer Concepcion of TPM writes:
“He was supposed to call me on Saturday,” Charlottesville Mayor Michael Signer told VICE News. “I heard word from an aide right when it was happening, and I didn’t hear from him. They said, ‘Do you want to talk to him?’ And I said, ‘I’d be happy to.’”
On Monday, Signer said he is “kind of finished talking about the President” for not taking a harder stance against hate groups following the attack at a rally where a self-proclaimed white supremacist drove his car into a crowd of counter protestors, leaving three dead and dozens injured.
What in the hell is preventing Trump from calling the mayor of this grieving city? Why is it so difficult for Trump to be a statesman? He doesn’t even have to be sincere while doing it! Just call and offer a few words of encouragement. Jesus fucking Christ!!
Is Trump scared? Is he afraid the mayor is going to call him a bad name over the phone? Or is Trump just being a dick? Right, he probably is just a dick who just doesn’t care. My guess is that he won’t be visiting Charlottesville anytime soon.
Based on the quote that he provided, I don’t think Mayor Singer is going to lose any sleep over Trump. Nor should he since Trump is a tainted failure of a president
If you are in the mood to hear how a real president responds to tragedy, I’ve included a video of President Obama’s rendition of Amazing Grace in the wake of the Charleston, SC race murders in 2015. Don’t you miss him?
